Galveston Island

Galveston Island is located forty five minutes south of Houston Texas. The island history is rich in culture and attractions from the 32 miles of shoreline from the beach to the bay, the historic strand district and storied past of Hurricanes and one of the richest city per capita in the United States prior to the 1900 hurricane. The city also offers everything from shopping to fishing whether it is strolling on the strand to boarding one of the many cruise ships depart from the Galveston ports.

Whether you explore the coastal marshes to biking the seawall there is always plenty to see and do. From the shopping on the strand to fishing in the Gulf on one of the many charters that depart for trips daily one can find many activities for the family to participate.

Dining on the island offers everything from the casual in beach attire to collared shirts to coat required dining experiences. These are found from Fish Tales, Gaido’s, Rudy and Paco’s to Sherns in Moody Gardens.

Historic Hotels are also here on the island from the Tremont House to the Galves located on the Seawall have stood the test of time and storms that have crossed the island. The other notable historical sites are the Moody House and Bishops Palace provide insight on the heritage of the island.
